Delhi NCR is set for another day of rain on September 5, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting light to moderate showers accompanied by thunderstorms across the region during the morning and evening hours. The wet spell comes a day after the city recorded heavy rain and gusty winds that touched 60 kmph in parts of the capital.
According to IMD's bulletin, a well-marked low pressure area over central parts of northern Madhya Pradesh and adjoining south Uttar Pradesh is behind the extended rain activity. The system is expected to remain quasi-stationary for the next two days, which means Delhi and its neighbouring cities will continue to see cloudy skies and intermittent showers before conditions start clearing up later in the week.
