NEW DELHI: The Delhi high court has taken a dim view of the Delhi Minorities Commission opposing a plea by a minority-run school that challenged the DMC’s power to hear the matters of teacher appointment.
“It irks us greatly when institutions are used for political purposes. We can see through this,” a bench of acting chief justice Vipin Sanghi and Justice Navin Chawla remarked, staying the proceedings before DMC, on a plea filed by the school. The bench was taken aback that the DMC deputed a lawyer to oppose the relief sought by Sukho Khalsa, an aided minority school.
