NEW DELHI: Delhi Capitals have chosen to end their association with head coach Ricky Ponting following a seven-year tenure, as the franchise was unable to secure the coveted IPL trophy, according to sources familiar with the situation.
Ponting, who led Australia to two World Cup victories, joined the team in 2019. Although Delhi Capitals reached their first-ever IPL final in 2021, the team's performances in subsequent seasons have not lived up to expectations.
