Dele Alli has not 'gone AWOL' from Besiktas training after manager claim

Dele Alli has not gone 'AWOL' and was given permission by Besiktas to travel to London.

That's according to the representatives of the Everton midfielder, who is spending the season on loan at the Turkish club.

Earlier today quotes emerged from the Besiktas manager Senol Gunes stating that Dele had not returned to training and claiming that it could because '"it's raining'" - and that the player wasn't contactable by phone.

But the ECHO have been told that the England international was given permission by Besiktas to travel to London for a doctor's appointment.

The Telegraph are also reporting that Dele "has email confirmation from the club giving him permission after they were informed earlier this week".

The 26-year-old has scored two goals in 13 Super Lig appearances for Besiktas but recent reports have suggested that he is no longer part of Gunes' plans.

Gunes said earlier: "Dele Alli could not come at this time. It's raining, I guess that's why he couldn't come. We're trying to hear from him. We could not reach him by phone. Hopefully he didn't have an accident."

As things stand Dele is set to return to Everton at the end of the season when his loan spell ends.
