Dejan Kulusevski reveals excitement at working with ‘winner’ Antonio Conte after Tottenham move

Dejan Kulusevski cannot wait to get started working under Antonio Conte after his deadline day move to Tottenham from Juventus.

The 21-year-old has joined Spurs on an initial 18-month loan, for a fee of £8.3m, with an obligation to sign him permanently for a further £25m if the club return to the Champions League and he plays more than 50 per cent of their matches.

Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur, who also joined from Juventus, are the first signings of the Antonio Conte era, and the Swede revealed how much of an influence the Italian was in his decision to make the move to Tottenham.

“I’m looking forward to working with the coach, I know him from Inter,” Kulusevski said.

“He’s a very good coach, he’s a winner and that’s what I want to be. I’m very happy that he’s here, and it’s part of why I came here.

“I’m going to listen to him, he knows what he’s talking about and I know that his teams are always working really hard. That’s what I love.

“I want to learn as much as possible with him and collaborate with the players here.”

Kulusevski has spent all of his career so far in Italy, and the chance to play in the Premier League was one that he did not want to miss out on.

“I’m so happy to be here, it’s a dream come true being here,” Kulusevski said.

“The Premier League has always been the league. It’s what we watched in Sweden, that was the best league in the world. I still think it is - it’s just another world.

“I was always thinking when can I go there, and then when this opportunity came I didn’t think twice.”
