The upcoming UFC 300 card is set to kick off with an exciting matchup between former champions Deiveson Figueiredo and Cody Garbrandt. Figueiredo, a former UFC flyweight champion, will face off against Garbrandt, who previously held the UFC bantamweight title.

Figueiredo, aged 36, made the move to the bantamweight division after losing his flyweight title to Brandon Moreno in January 2023. His initial reign as the UFC 125-pound champion began in July 2020, and he defended the title twice before losing it to Moreno in June 2021. Figueiredo reclaimed the title in January 2022 but suffered a defeat in his first title defense against Moreno at UFC 283.

On the other hand, Garbrandt, aged 32, had a stellar start to his UFC career, going 10-0 before capturing the bantamweight title by defeating Dominick Cruz in December 2016. However, he lost the title in his next fight to T.J. Dillashaw and has faced challenges since then, with a record of 3-5 and four knockout losses.

Figueiredo, currently ranked No. 8 in the UFC bantamweight division, is coming off a victory over Rob Font in his first bantamweight bout. Garbrandt, unranked in the division, is on a two-fight winning streak, with his most recent win coming against Brian Kelleher in December.

Heading into UFC 300, Figueiredo is the clear favorite with betting odds of -340, while Garbrandt is the underdog at +270. Figueiredo has a higher significant strike rate and takedown accuracy compared to Garbrandt, who has a better takedown defense.

With a career record of 22-3-1, Figueiredo has notable wins by knockout, submission, and decision. Garbrandt, with a record of 14-5, has secured most of his victories by knockout but has also suffered knockout losses in his career.

UFC 300 is scheduled to take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on April 13, 2024. The main card will be available on ESPN+ pay-per-view, with prelims on ESPN and early prelims on ESPN+. The Figueiredo vs. Garbrandt fight will open the early prelims at 6 p.m. ET, promising an action-packed start to the event.
