Defense attorney Tom Dickey announced on Tuesday that he has been retained to represent Luigi Mangione, the individual accused of the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Mangione is currently resisting extradition to New York, where he is facing multiple charges, including murder. He is currently in custody in Pennsylvania after being denied bail by a judge earlier today. Additionally, Mangione is facing charges related to possession of a gun and a fake ID that were discovered by police during his arrest in the state on Monday.

Dickey expressed his commitment to defending Mangione within the confines of the law and ensuring that his client's constitutional rights are protected during the extradition process. When questioned about whether Mangione's family had retained his services, Dickey declined to provide further details on the matter.
