Deer put down after suffering 'catastrophic injuries' in Bulwell

A deer had to be put down after being "hit" and suffering "catastrophic injuries." A Facebook post from Bulwell, Rise Park and Highbury Vale Police stated that they were called on the morning of Friday, May 20, to reports of a deer that was in "severe distress" in Hucknall Road, Bulwell.

After a number of unsuccessful calls to different organisations police were able to contact Brinsley Animal Rescue who, along with a police escort, helped get the deer to Vets4pets in Bulwell. Sadly, the deer was swiftly put to sleep due to its injuries.

The Facebook post issued by police read: "Yesterday morning we received a call that a deer had been hit on Hucknall Road at Bulwell. After an number of calls to different organisations there was no one that could help me and at this point the only option was to put the deer to sleep.
