AYODHYA: More than 22,000 volunteers, including students, laid out 17 lakh diyas for the Deepotsava, which will be witnessed for the first time by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday. UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath will also be present on the occasion.
Volunteers of Avadh University, affiliated colleges and NGOs were stationed at the ghats since 10 am on Saturday to lay out diyas on Ram ki Paidi, on the banks of the Saryu, under the guidance of vice-chancellor Akhilesh Kumar Singh.
