Declan Rice stance on transfer as £100m plans could be ruined by Liverpool rival

Liverpool are waiting patiently to strike-up further business this summer after signing Argentina playmaker Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton for an undisclosed fee. Further recruits are being tracked for the engine room, while the Reds also have their eye on a left-sided central defender to provide competition and cover in that area.

As attentions shift to next season, their Premier League rivals are also attempting to make things happen. Here's a round-up from other top clubs in the division as Manchester City and Manchester United get ready to spend, while Arsenal brace themselves for heavy-handed competition from their top target;

Manchester City

Manchester City are preparing to launch a bid for England midfielder Declan Rice after watching Arsenal have two offers turned down by West Ham in the last 48 hours. Rice, 24, is expected to leave the Hammers this summer after captaining them to Europa Conference League glory this season.

Speculation over his future is gathering pace. Reports from football.london underline developing interest from City as West Ham, seemingly, hold firm on their £100m valuation for the 42-cap international.

Manchester United

As they continue their pursuit for Liverpool-linked midfielder Mason Mount this summer, Manchester United have opened discussions with AS Monaco over an offer for Axel Disasi. That's according to reports from Foot Mercato as Erik ten Hag targets a new centre-back.

Napoli star Kim Min-jae was, initially, on their radar. However, as the South Korean takes a step closer to signing for Bayern Munich following his impressive season, 25-year-old Disasi appears to be the man in demand for United with €40m mooted as a potential transfer fee.

Arsenal

Despite gearing themselves up for competition for Rice's signature, Arsenal have made progress when it comes to their other priority target this summer. Chelsea forward Kai Havertz will undergo a medical at the Emirates Stadium this weekend as he gets ready to complete his £65m switch.

That's according to further reports from football.london as the Gunners step up their recruitment drive. Havertz will become the club's first signing after finishing second in the Premier League last season.

Chelsea

Chelsea have reportedly devised a three-man shortlist to replace City-bound player Mateo Kovacic.

As reported, the Blues have sanctioned a £30m sale to the treble winners and Kovacic is, effectively, heading there as a replacement for departing captain Ilkay Gundogan. But who will Mauricio Pochettino target instead?

Reports from The Evening Standard outline interest in Moises Caicedo (Brighton), Romeo Lavia (Southampton) and highly-rated Everton midfielder Amadou Onana. Although no would-be fee for the trio has been suggested, Chelsea do, presumably, have an extra £95m in the bank from selling Havertz and Kovacic.

Newcastle United

Decisive meetings are reportedly talking place regarding Italy midfielder, Sandro Tonali, as he takes a step closer to signing for Newcastle United this summer. Several publications have pointed to that ongoing approach as Sky Italia provide the latest update with regards to sit-down talks.

As per that article, sporting director Dan Ashworth is currently in Milan to iron out any potential complications.

Newcastle are understood to have offered €70m plus add-ons for the 23-year-old as Milan hold out for €10m more. A swift resolution to those 'problems' is anticipated before Tonali puts pen-to-paper.
