Declan Rice posted a message to West Ham fans following what could well have been his final home game for the club.
The England international is Arsenal’s leading transfer target this summer following the player’s public admission about wanting to play in the Champions League made during the World Cup.
Rice has rejected the offer of a new contract in east London and has now entered the final two years of his current deal, meaning this summer is surely the last chance West Ham have of extracting anything approaching maximum value for the 24-year-old.
Manager David Moyes refused to discuss Rice’s future after the game though the midfielder embarked on a second solo lap of appreciation after the rest of the squad had completed theirs.
Six years to the day he made his Hammers debut, Rice levelled the scores as West Ham came from behind to beat Leeds 3-1 on Sunday, only days after they booked their spot in the Europa Conference League final.
