Declan Rice Injury Update: Arsenal Boosted As Rice Set For Return

Arsenal have been handed a huge boost ahead of their Champions League clash against Sporting Lisbon, as Declan Rice is set to return to the starting eleven.

Declan Rice Set For Starting Eleven Return

Mikel Arteta has revealed that Delcan Rice could make his return to the Arsenal starting eleven for the Gunners’ away trip to Lisbon in the Champions League.

The England international has been out for the last few weeks with a toe injury and missed Arsenal’s last Champions League clash against Inter.

The Englishman did start in Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea, however he appeared to be rushed back and was an unused substitute against Nottingham Forest.

Arteta gave the latest on his side’s current injury status and confirmed that everyone should be fit and ready to return bar Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu.

The Spaniard said: “Everybody in the squad is fully fit and available to start the game.”

Arsenal have also been boosted by the return of Kieran Tierney who has become somewhat of a forgotten an in north London.

The Scotsman was back on the training pitch in the early stages of November and has joined the squad on the trip to Portugal.

At this moment in time, Tierney is not deemed to be Arsenal’s first or even second choice left-back, with the Scottish international being behind Riccardo Calafiori and Oleksandr Zinchenko.

However, Arteta has confirmed that he is very excited to have Tierney back in action and revealed that he is at a ‘level to participate.’

Arteta said: “We have Kieran Tierney after a long injury, it’s great news that he’s back,” the Spaniard said. “He’s been training with the team and he’s at the level to participate.”

The Gunners will be hoping to bounce back from their defeat to Inter last time out and are the favourites going into the match on UK betting sites.
