Decision to dump waste privatisation push will cost households an extra $47

A push to privatise a City of Newcastle waste service has been rubbished in what the United Services Union (USU) has called a win for council workers.

But keeping the service in-house is expected to cost ratepayers an extra $47 a household each year.
