Authorities in Miami-Dade are investigating a disturbing incident after a human head was discovered washed ashore at a popular beach in South Florida. The head was found behind the Key Colony II Ocean Sound condos in Key Biscayne by a beach worker on November 12.
The police have not yet been able to determine the age or sex of the individual to whom the head belonged. Detective Andre Martin of the Miami-Dade Police mentioned that the cause of the decapitation is still under investigation, and they are exploring various theories regarding how the head became separated from the body.
While there is speculation that the remains may belong to an adult male, authorities are awaiting confirmation before making any definitive statements. Martin emphasized that they are keeping all possibilities open at this stage, whether it be an accident or a missing person case.
The medical examiner and homicide officials are collaborating to identify the deceased individual. Despite the gruesome nature of the discovery, the incident is not currently being classified as a homicide.
Local residents and beachgoers are understandably shocked by this unsettling find, and the community is eagerly awaiting further updates as the investigation progresses.
