A decapitated cat has been found dumped in a field in south Dublin - just days after a dog was also found without its head.
The horrifying discovery was made yesterday on Ballyboden Crescent in Rathfarnham, on a green area in the middle of the road that is popular with local kids.
The female white tabby cat's head was not found at the scene.

The DSPCA and Rathfarnham gardai are urging anyone with any information or any CCTV or dash-cam footage of the area to come forward.
It is the second time this week that a mutilated pet was found dumped in Dublin after the body of a dog was found decapitated in a bin shed in Clondalkin on Tuesday.
The dog was a large, male, tan-coloured, un-neutered bull terrier.
The dog's body was removed to the DSPCA shelter in where he was found to be microchipped.
A cause of death has not been identified, but the DSPCA vets believe he had not been dead for more than two days.
"Gardai are investigating a suspected incident of animal cruelty following the discovery of a dead cat in the Ballyboden Crescent area of Ballyboden, Dublin 16, on the morning of Thursday, 31st March, 2022," a garda spokesman told Dublin Live.
"No arrests have been made at this stage of this ongoing investigation."
“We are working with the Gardai in both cases and really need the public’s help in finding the persons responsible,” a DSPCA spokeswoman added.
