The death of a woman whose body was found in a burned-out car is still being treated as unexplained more than a month on, police say.
Police were called to a remote road near, in Matfen, Northumberland, on the evening of December 11.
It was reported that a car was on fire close to Matfen Brewery.
When emergency services arrived they found a woman's body inside the red Audi.
An investigation was launched and today, more than a month on, police are still treating the woman's death as "unexplained".
A Northumbria Police spokeswoman said: "The death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing to try to identify the cause of the fire."
Police have previously appealed for witnesses.
In December officers said they wanted to speak to anyone who was in the Matfen area or on Military Road at about 7pm on Sunday, December 11, or those who have dash-cam footage from the area.
Anyone with information should call Northumbria Police on 101 quoting NP-20221211-0858.
