Death in Paradise fans will be pleased to hear that Kris Marshall will be returning to the idyllic Caribbean locale of Saint-Marie to play DI Humphrey Goodman in a new spin-off series commissioned by the BBC. Marshall played the lead in the third, fourth and fifth series of the show, before being replaced by Ardal O'Hanlon.
But now the actor is set to return in what is one the BBC's most popular TV dramas. The spin-off, Beyond Paradise, is expected to be broadcast on BBC One in the UK and Britbox International, in selected countries. It has also been revealed that Sally Bretton, who plays Martha Lloyd, will reunite with Kris's character.
Many fans have been hoping for a spin-off series alongside the return of DI Humphrey Goodman over the last few years, and it would seem their hopes have become reality. Diederick Santer, BritBox Chief Creative Officer, said filming the spin-off was a "no brainer", the Express reports.
