BBC detective drama Death in Paradise continues to provide viewers some warmth on the cold winter nights, as this series airs its fourth episode on Friday, January 27. Since 2020, Royle Family star Ralf Little has led the cast as fish out of water, DI Neville Parker.
Over the last four weeks, the popular show has seen many guest stars come and go. Amongst others, Robert Webb and Barney Walsh have appeared alongside the main cast, which features Don Warrington, Shantol Jackson, Tahj Miles and Ginny Holder.
Death in Paradise has now been running since 2011 and viewers haven’t shown any signs of switching off, and it still gets huge ratings. But just how many episodes are left of the current series?

Here's everything you need to know as the current series continues.
How many episodes are left of this series of Death in Paradise?
Each series of Death in Paradise consists of eight episodes. As mentioned, four episodes have now aired and that means there are still four more adventures on the island of Saint Marie.
The fifth episode will air on Friday, January 27 at 9pm on BBC One with the rest following weekly at the same time on the same channel. There are still a number of story threads that viewers are yet to see resolved this year. Perhaps one of the main questions is: Will Neville be reunited with Sophie?
Death in Paradise has a precedent of its detectives leaving the series after falling in love. Kris Marshall, who played Humphrey Goodman from 2014 to 2017 (and is returning in spin-off, Beyond Paradise), left the series when he fell for a woman named Martha, played by Sally Bretton.
The third episode of this series ended with Neville’s friend, Andrew Buckley (played by Kent Riley), arriving on the island. Viewers have theorised that Buckley could be Neville’s replacement.
