Death in Paradise Florence star in talks with bosses about Beyond Paradise role

Death in Paradise star Joséphine Jobert has revealed she has been in talks with bosses to join BBC spin-off Beyond Paradise.

Joséphine is a much loved member of the team, having played Florence Cassell on and off for several series. She has worked alongside DI Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) and DI Neville Parker (Ralf Little) in the original series, but could she be reunited with her former boss Humphrey in the equally beautiful Shipton Abbot for a new challenge?

Florence was last seen in Saint Marie when she bid farewell to her colleagues after infiltrating a criminal gang. For her own safety, she had to leave the island for good - but could she make a new appearance in Devon?

In an Instagram Q&A, she revealed: "It's not officially planned yet, but it's a possibility that we discussed with the producer some time ago. So we’ll see if that will happen. But I would love to anyway. It would be a very nice wink."

Beyond Paradise ended last week with some huge scenes as Humphrey returned to Saint Marie to consider his future. There, he met up with his former boss Commissioner Selwyn Patterson, before he soon introduced him to the rest of the team.

Fans loved the crossover between the two series and want to see more characters appear in Saint Marie and Shipton Abbot.

"One of the beautiful & poignant ending of the #BeyondParadise @BeyondPOfficial (Season 1) . Absolutely loved its crossover ending with #DeathInParadise," one penned, as a second added: "That final episode of #BeyondParadise was amazing! The crossover of the century when my two favourite DI’s met at the bar! Now just need more #DeathInParadise."

Florence has also worked alongside Neville (BBC / Red Planet / Denis Guyenon)

Beyond Paradise has been renewed for a second series and a Christmas special, with Sally Bretton also returning as Martha, Zahra Ahmadi as DS Esther Williams, Dylan Llewellyn as PC Kelby Hartford and Felicity Montagu as office support Margo Martins.

Tim Key, Executive Producer, Red Planet Pictures shared: "We’ve been blown away by the audience response to the show and are so happy that people have taken it to their hearts. We can’t wait to get our amazing cast back together to continue the story – and to be able to pay a visit to Shipton Abbott at Christmas is even better."

Death In Paradise will also be back for a Christmas special and two more series.
