Death in Paradise has confirmed the guest stars who will be appearing on the fictional island paradise of Saint Marie for the show's upcoming series.
There are 12 guest stars arriving in the scorching Caribbean sunshine, white sands and crystal blue seas, including favourites from Downton Abbey and Coronation Street.
The popular BBC series is filmed on the French Caribbean island of Guadeloupe, which is where the cast and crew fly to for every series.
The tropical crime drama's cast continues to grow, as the Death in Paradise Twitter account recently confirmed that two familiar faces will be joining the upcoming 12th season.
Sharing pictures of the new cast members, Death in Paradise confirmed that John Michie and Cara Theobold will be joining.
John Michie is known for playing the villain Karl Munro in the ITV soap Coronation Street, having joined the cobbles in 2011 before he announced his exit in 2013.
Michie's character left embroiled in a dark storyline, as Karl set The Rovers Return Inn on fire, which led to the deaths of Sunita and local firefighter Toni Griffiths (Tara Moran). He then married Stella and took her hostage in the pub before he was arrested for arson and murder.
Cara Theobold is another guest star, who Downton Abbey fans will recognise as the kitchen maid Ivy Stuart, who she played from 2011 to 2013.
Her work on the series resulted in her being a co-recipient of the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.
The twelfth series of Death in Paradise will also feature guest stars Hakeem Kae-Kazim, Les Dennis, Jo Martin and Siobhan McSweeney.
Death in Paradise has become so popular among avid fans that many travel to the tropical location to visit the set and the real locations used in filming.
However, this has subsequently forced the production to take down the detective’s beach-front shack every year and then reassemble it during filming.
As well as the elements, such as the tide coming in during the winter months and washing it away, they also have to fence off the shack in the middle of filming to stop partygoers.
Executive Producer Tim Key told Radio Times: "We’ve had years where we’ve kind of left it to the elements, and then people were having parties in it at weekends, like tourists having parties. We were like, 'We have to secure this a little bit more now!""
Death in Paradise will return for a Christmas special this festive season.
