DeAndre Jordan was in attendance for the 2023 NBA Summer League, joining many of his Nuggets teammates to watch their younger players. The veteran big man spoke to Altitude Now reporter Katy Winge about both the young team and discussed one of Jordan’s close friends from last year’s team in Jeff Green.
While Green left in free agency, joining the Rockets, Jordan was asked by Winge what he’s going to do without his former teammate, and the center was quick to troll the former Nugget.
“I’ll actually probably be more productive and get a lot of things done. But he’s a traitor and I don’t like him anymore. I took his name out of my phone so it’s just a number,” Jordan said while laughing.
Green and Jordan obviously had a good relationship, and the former left in free agency after signing a two-year, $16 million deal that includes a non-guaranteed salary and team option for the 2024–25 season, per Hoops Hype's Michael Scotto. Per Scotto, it also includes $1.6 million in likely bonuses for each season.
