Free agent NFL superstar DeAndre Hopkins will visit the Tennessee Titans this weekend in a surprising first visit as he looks for a new team.
Hopkins was released by the Cardinals last week after the team failed to agree to a trade, with the team unable to acquire any sort of draft compensation for losing him. As a result, Hopkins is now left looking for a new team - being heavily linked to the Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns.
However, none of those three teams have yet to make any sort of move, with the wide receiver looking to be given a substantial deal - likely more than that which was given to Odell Beckham Jr at the Ravens. But the Titans are the first to make a move, and will host him for a meeting on Sunday, potentially agreeing a deal for the wideout.
The Titans had not expected to make any significant moves this season after losing several key players - such as Taylor Lewan, Nate Davis, Ben Jones, David Long and Robert Woods - while potentially moving on to Will Levis as their new quarterback.
But the team might be looking to give Tannehill or Levis a legitimate number one option at receiver, something that they have not had since they traded away AJ Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles.
It would be seen as a surprising move for Hopkins to join the Titans, with the team expected to struggle over the next few seasons - losing key players and having to rebuild their roster, likely around Levis.
Hopkins remains one of the best receivers in the league, having incredibly high production levels, with Hopkins 64 catches for 717 yards and three touchdowns on the year - despite doing so in just eight full games.
A move for the 31-year-old would reunite him with Mike Vrabel, who had been a coach with the Houston Texans from 2014-17 alongside Hopkins.
The Buffalo Bills were also linked with a move for Hopkins, but The Athletic have claimed that they are unlikely to to do so with the team struggling against the salary cap.
