Forgotten Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson has potentially been offered a route out of Old Trafford with newly-promoted pair Bournemouth and Fulham reportedly interested in making a move.
The former Sheffield United loanee was expected to challenge David de Gea for the number one spot with the Red Devils having impressed at Bramall Lane. The 25-year-old was handed 26 appearances by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last term but has failed to build upon those opportunities this season.
He has made just three outings in all competitions - the last coming in a shock FA Cup defeat to Championship outfit Middlesbrough back in February. It was expected that Henderson could be set to look for a route out of Old Trafford due to that distinct lack of opportunities and he could well be handed a perfect chance this summer.
According to The Sun, newly-promoted pair Fulham and Bournemouth are both interested in a loan move for Henderson - something that the Red Devils could potentially be willing to facilitate. As per the reports, United would be open to paying a minimum of half of Henderson’s current wages should he seek a temporary move.
It is suggested though that the Red Devils are not yet willing to cash-in on the goalkeeper - although an impressive loan stint away from Old Trafford could potentially force them into reconsidering. He could well be in line to start for either Fulham or Bournemouth should a move be signed off.
The London side saw Marek Rodak and former Tottenham stopper Paulo Gazzaniga compete for a starting berth last term, whilst Mark Travers was the Cherries’ number one as they sealed an immediate return to the Premier League under Scott Parker.

Amid the interest in his services, Henderson has already admitted that he has been left frustrated at not being able to prove himself in front of the Man Utd faithful on regular occasions. Speaking with the club’s official website earlier this year, he said: "I love playing in front of the supporters.
"Wherever I've been, I've always built up good relationships with them because I think they can help on a Saturday as much as we can help each other. I think they can become the 12th man.
"Unfortunately, at this moment in time, I've not yet had the opportunity here [in the Premier League at Old Trafford] because we had Covid last year. It's been a shame and that is something that grinds on me.
"I believe I can have an unbelievable relationship with the Manchester United fans, but until that day comes, I'll keep working hard in the background. One day, I'll build that rapport with them and kick on."
In all, Henderson - a one-time England international - has made 29 appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions having first joined the club’s famed youth academy at the age of 14. He currently has just over three years left to run on his Old Trafford deal.
