Dean Henderson doubts as Nottingham Forest in shock £50m transfer claim

Here's a round-up of the latest Nottingham Forest news on Thursday, July 6.

Henderson and Man Utd transfer talks update

Manchester United will hold talks with Dean Henderson before making a decision on his future, it is said.

The Manchester Evening News report that United boss Erik ten Hag will ask Henderson if he wants to stay at Old Trafford or leave this summer, with Nottingham Forest interested in signing him on a permanent deal after a successful loan at the City Ground last season.

However, even if Henderson expresses a desire to leave, Ten Hag is “unlikely” to sanction his sale until the goalkeeper situation at Old Trafford is resolved.

Rooney reveals ‘conversations’ with Forest

DC United manager Wayne Rooney has said the MLS club are ‘trying everything’ to extend Lewis O’Brien’s stay until the end of the USA season.

The Nottingham Forest midfielder joined the American side on loan in March after a late January deadline-day move to Blackburn Rovers fell through. O’Brien was left out of Steven Cooper’s 25-man Premier League squad for the second half of the season.

It left him looking for a club, with the British transfer window closed. A move to Washington, managed by former Derby County boss Rooney, was confirmed just under two months later.

Lingard has Saudi Arabia and Beckham conundrum

Former Nottingham Forest forward Jesse Lingard is reportedly considering three offers from clubs in Saudi Arabia.

The 30-year-old is a free agent after his Forest contract expired this summer, with the former Manchester United man now looking for a new club ahead of next season. It appears he is not short of options across the globe.

Lingard has been training with David Beckham's United States club Inter Miami, and Sky Sports now report that he has offers on the table from three clubs in Saudi Arabia.

Speaking on his future last week, Lingard said he was keeping all his options open, but would not rule out a move to the Middle East, alongside the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and N'Golo Kante.

Forest would 'consider' shock Brennan Johnson transfer

Nottingham Forest would 'consider' selling Brennan Johnson for £50million this summer, according to a report.

The 22-year-old has been the subject of long-standing interest from Premier League rivals Brentford, who tried to sign Johnson 18 months ago and had a £30million bid knocked back last month.

According to the Daily Mail, Brentford are 'confident' of being able to sign Johnson, while Forest 'may be willing' to sell their academy graduate. But it would take an offer 'in the region of £50m' for the Reds to consider a sale.
