When humanity comes together, extraordinary things can happen.
A contestant who appeared on the British game show Deal or No Deal was flooded with financial support after coming out with his life-limiting condition.
After winning just £5 in the revived ITV program, Brad Wale’s fellow contestant Rochelle Brown launched a fundraiser to help him achieve his dream. And within days, thousands of donations poured in, smashing the £20,000 target, the BBC reported.
Brad Wale, a contestant who appeared on the British gameshow Deal or No Deal, was flooded with financial support after coming out with his life-limiting condition
More than £85,800 has been raised for the Wolverhampton native, who suffers from motor neurone disease (MND), an incurable and uncommon condition that affects the brain and nerves.
According to the NHS, MND causes weakness that gets worse over time. As such, Brad told the gameshow’s host, Stephen Mulhern, that he wanted to win money to attempt to fulfill his bucket list.
Brad started his stint on the show with a lucky streak, ruling out numerous boxes that contained “blue” (low) cash values, as per Tyla.
Nevertheless, the odds weren’t in his favor, as he turned down the banker’s offer of £12,500, ultimately leaving him with a mere £5.
Devastated at the result, Brad told the host: “This is my life. I’ve always had such bad luck. Nothing changes, I should have expected this.”

Now, it appears that Brad will get to achieve his dream, with a total of £85,813 raised for him, at the time of writing this.
He recently told WM: “I genuinely can’t believe it, I’m lost for words, it’s so overwhelming. I left with £5 and that was it, I was content with that, I accepted it, so I was never expecting something like this. I feel honored, blessed, and guilty at the same time.”
Rochelle, who started the GoFundMe appeal, reportedly said she “clicked right away” with Brad after meeting him during the auditions for the show, which aired on November 30.
The 30-year-old recalled: “After the show I gave it 15 minutes, I wanted to keep the momentum up, it’s an hour show for everyone at home but this is Brad’s life. This doesn’t just end once the camera has stopped filming.
“He really deserves to have his bucket list and his dreams come true.”

Today (December 6), Rochelle wrote an update on the GoFundMe page, thanking people who donated money.
She wrote: “I didn’t think that I would be updating SO MANY OF YOU! I just want to say a huge thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are all incredible. You have changed Brad’s life and I will never be able to say thank you enough.
“We are wishing you all a very merry Christmas and HAPPY HEALTHY new year. You have done an amazing thing for Brad and you should all be so proud of yourselves for your kindness.”
