Parents have not got long to finish applications for their child's primary school place.
The deadlines to apply for a reception class place for children to start school in September 2023 are towards the end of this week. They vary between Friday January 13 and the afternoon of Monday January 15, depending where in the North East you are applying.
Councils let you name multiple choices, usually in order of preference. Applications received after the deadlines will be considered "late". Parents must apply through their council.
