The Dead by Daylight anniversary stream was packed with announcements, including a detailed roadmap for the coming year and even a couple of new Dead by Daylight teases. The horror game’s first big addition is coming up soon in a new chapter, with half a dozen new characters planned in the following months. A series of collaborations involving well-known creators and musicians is also in the works, and yes, Nicholas Cage is coming to Dead by Daylight as well.
Dead by Daylight’s roadmap for 2023
Behaviour has a lot planned for the multiplayer game in the next year. New Tomes are planned for July and October, with a new survivor in July – possibly Nicholas Cage – and a killer-centric chapter in August. Excluding End Transmission’s new characters, Behaviour has three more killers and four more survivors planned between July 2023 and March 2024.
That’s in addition to the usual slew of in-game events and other promotions
New chapter – End Transmission
End Transmission is the next Dead by Daylight chapter, taking the game into space where a frightening new killer awaits. Check out our End Transmission overview for a more in-depth look.
Community cosmetics - Artists from the Fog
Behaviour partnered with members of the Dead by Daylight community on a set of new cosmetics that will be featured in an upcoming collection. Behaviour narrowed submissions down to four, and the art direction team worked with these creators from there to bring their creations to life – two new killer skins and two new survivor skins. There’s no word yet on when these will show up in the shop, though it’ll be sometime in summer 2023.
Ikumi Nakamura lends a hand
Artist and director Ikumi Nakamura, known for her work on The Evil Within, among other projects, also partnered with Behavior to create new skins. Nakamura developed alternate looks for The Oni, Yui Kimura, and The Legion, all of which will be available in summer 2023.
Naughty Bear is back
Behaviour’s erstwhile mascot Naughty Bear is making a comeback. Naughty Bear is a lonely plushy who, rejected by all around him, has a tendency to go on violent rampages. He’s coming to Dead by Daylight as an outfit for the Trapper, complete with a unique Mori.
Iron Maiden and Slipknot collaborations
Behaviour is bringing two new collections inspired by metal legends Iron Maiden and Slipknot to Dead by Daylight. The Iron Maiden collection is inspired by Eddie and the band’s album covers, while the Slipknot collection of nine masks is inspired by the band’s members.
New Dead by Daylight games
Behavior closed the stream with a tease about what’s next for the Dead by Daylight franchise. One is a single-player, narrative-driven game, the fruit of a partnership with Dark Pictures developer Supermassive Games. The second is a multiplayer PvE game exploring the themes of greed and lust for power. Midwinter Entertainment is helping develop this one.
Both are still in the early stages of development.
