Explosive Collingwood star Jordan De Goey has been offered a one-match suspension by the AFL match review officer for a dangerous tackle on Patrick Dangerfield.

De Goey grabbed Dangerfield and dumped the Geelong match-winner into the ground early in the final quarter of Saturday night's clash at the MCG.

Dangerfield's head came into contact with the ground, however, he was not seriously hurt and got up immediately to take a free kick.

De Goey was charged with rough conduct over the incident, which was assessed as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact.

De Goey's suspension would be a blow after his hot start to the season for Collingwood, who have impressed with a new attacking game style under new coach Craig McRae.

De Goey's strong form comes despite a tumultuous off-season following his drunken brush with the law in the US.

Brisbane ruckman Oscar McInerney is also facing a one-match ban for striking North Melbourne opponent Tristan Xerri.

The incident, which occurred during the Lions' massive 108-point win on Saturday night, was assessed as intentional conduct, low impact and high contact.

GWS forward Harry Himmelberg can accept a $2000 fine for striking Gold Coast defender Sam Collins.

Geelong's Tom Atkins can accept a $1000 fine for wrestling with Collingwood's Jack Ginnivan, who escaped penalty despite calls for him to be fined for staging in a separate incident.

Brisbane's Jarrod Berry was offered a $2000 fine for striking North Melbourne's Nick Larkey.
