Before training camp practice on Monday head coach Kevin Stefanski said that both defensive ends Alex Wright and Isaiah Thomas would miss significant time with knee injuries. On Tuesday, the young defensive end of the Cleveland Browns posted a video on his Instagram with the caption “I’ll be back soon…REAL SOON”
It does appear that in the video Wright is in a wheelchair so I wouldn’t expect him back for at least a couple of weeks despite his optimism. Wright had a nice performance in the Hall of Fame game trying to bounce back from a tough rookie campaign at times. Time will tell how long he will truly be out but the team could look to add more depth in the meantime.
The team later announced that both Wright and fellow second-year defense end Isaiah Thomas had surgery on their knees on Tuesday morning. The official release from the team says they expect a full recovery early in the season.
