The energy on the floor stayed high on Day 3 of Web Summit Qatar as new speakers, artists and startups took the spotlight.
Panels, interactive booths and discussions kept the summit buzzing, with fresh faces bringing new ideas to explore.
Among them, music and creativity took center stage, showing how technology is shaping not just work but art.
Creativity meets technology
American singer Aloe Blacc highlighted how technology is transforming music. “A lot of it is about live performance and the kind of tools that you can use,” he said.
“There are new instruments that respond to physical movement, so you don’t need to touch a key or a pad. It’s using a general field of energy, and it’s so awesome.”
He explained that these innovations are changing how artists perform and interact with their audiences. “Tech lets musicians experiment in ways we couldn’t before,” Blacc added, “and it opens up a whole new world of creativity on stage.”
Startups take centre stage
Startups also grabbed attention with innovations for work, collaboration and daily life.
Krista Ambaine of Busy Tag explained, “Busy Tag is a device for open offices to show your availability status.
We also offer indicators for meeting rooms to show if it's busy or available.” Across the booths, founders pitched, networked and shared the next big ideas in tech.
Big ideas, big debates
Alongside product demos and panels packed with questions and discussion, big ideas continued to be at the centre of the debate.
Former Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis told Euronews, “Capitalism has already ended and we don’t even know it,” reminding attendees that technology is reshaping economies and power structures.
From startups and artists to policymakers on stage, Day 3 of Web Summit Qatar proved that even with new faces, the summit’s mix of creativity, innovation and discussion remains just as exciting.
