Less than 24 hours ago, the Raiders put out their first injury report of the week. The news on it was Rock Ya-Sin was back at practice for the first time in a month. It was short lived as Ya-Sin is now headed for injured reserve, ending his season.
The veteran’s exit goes right along with the Raiders’ plans to shift to seeing what they have in several young players as they finish out the season.
Amik Robertson and Tyler Hall have gotten the bulk of the snaps alongside Nate Hobbs in Ya-Sin’s absence.
Hall in particular has played quite well, especially last week in Pittsburgh despite the loss to the Steelers. If he keeps playing as he’s played of late, the Raiders may give him a shot at a starting job next season.
Ya-Sin was acquired in trade with the Colts this offseason. He is in the final year of his rookie contract, which means if he is not re-signed, he will hit free agency this offseason.
