Actress Dawn French has seen the return of her signature bob hairstyle as she flaunted her impressive weight loss on the red carpet.
The 65-year-old comedian, who is best known for her roles in The Vicar of Dibley and Absolutely Fabulous, appeared to be glowing in an all-black number which complimented her slimmer figure as she arrived at the West End opening night of Oklahoma! on Tuesday at London's Wyndham's Theatre.
And to the delight of fans, it was her signature bob making a return which stood out on the night, having been her most recognisable hairstyle during her time playing Geraldine Granger.
Dawn, who was known for her dark tresses, has now embraced her silver locks but kept the iconic fringe. Before her new style, Dawn was rocking a pixie cut, but had wondered what her signature bob would look like with grey hair, according to The Mirror.
Telling Good Housekeeping last year she is "curious" to see what her famous bob would look like grey, the BBC star has been embracing her stunning natural silver hair for a while as she "couldn't be bothered" with the upkeep of her dark brown locks.
Appearing on The One Show in December last year, she said: "I just couldn’t be bothered to keep doing it. So I let my natural grey come through.
"I also cut some of it myself – to my hairdresser’s alarm! It’s much shorter than I’m used to now and I do have certain ‘Grrr’ moments when I don’t know how to style it – I would literally give my old hair 13 minutes of my time each day."
Dawn, who was previously married to fellow comedian Lenny Henry, has been open about her incredible weight loss in the past, revealing she shed a whopping seven stone back in 2011.
She said: "I just did less eating and more exercising. But I've never disliked myself at all. My weight has had nothing to do with my self-esteem. And I still refuse to dislike my old body."
But in 2014 Dawn shared the real reason behind her dramatic weight loss which wasn't the results of a gastric band as fans speculated but she revealed she had a hysterectomy after a cancer scare.
Dawn later admitted she piled on some of the pounds again due to "her love of bread and pasta," but she couldn't have looked better at the theatre event this week, sporting a long black coat paired with a black blouse and trousers. She complimented her outfit with black trainers and a handbag.
Dawn's love for the Vicar of Dibley runs deeper than just her haircut as she claims she wants to be buried in her costume, "the full vestments".
The actress also wants to be laid to rest in a solid-gold casket "like a sarcophagus" with a Perspex lid so she can be seen at her funeral. Dawn says all her exes would have a role, including ex-partner Lenny Henry who she divorced back in 2010.
