Davy Klassen was left infuriated after Feyenoord’s goalkeeper told him to GET UP after being struck by an object thrown from the crowd.
The KNVB Cup die Klassieker semi-final was marred by ugly scenes and had to be suspended after an hour when a missile thrown from the crowd struck Klassen and left him bloodied at Feyenoord's De Kuip stadium. Officials took players off the pitch before returning to play the last half an hour or so.
Ajax held on for a 2-1 win over their rivals thanks to captain Dusan Tadic’s opener and the winner from Klassen himself either side of Santiago Giminez’s leveller on the stroke of half time. Kenneth Taylor was shown a red card deep into stoppage time, but the major talking point was the shocking incident that left Klassen bleeding from a head wound and the players’ forced to head up the tunnel while things calmed down on the terraces.
