Davina has been helping the nation to get fit for almost two decades after selling more than 2 million weight loss DVDs and she now runs her own online platform Own Your Goals Davina.
With more focus on body positivity in recent years and many highlighting the dangers of diet culture, Davina took a moment to defend her project.
She told HELLO! magazine : "I’m not trying to get you to give stuff up, I’m just trying to get you to make sensible choices. I just want you to eat in a way where your body’s going to be screaming, ‘Thank you!'"
She insists that she doesn't want people to give anything up, just "make sensible choices".
Davina admitted to "indulging" over Christmas, but said that people shouldn't be afraid of admitting if they want to slim down to "feel better in clothes".
“We’ve often been a bit nervous about talking about weight loss, but we shouldn’t be ashamed of it because it’s what people want to know about,” she explained.
She said that her "biggest mission in life" is to make exercise more enjoyable for people.
As many people head back to the gym after the festive period, Davina has explained how she can understand why fitness newbies might find their new lifestyle intimidating.
But she insists that there is "no downside" to exercising and that it's a personal journey.
The mum-of-three explained that there are still things in the gym that she "isn't great at", adding that she does "easier versions".
