Davina McCall has spilled details about her intimate wedding to Michael Douglas.
The presenter, 58, married the celebrity hairdresser, 52, in December - three weeks after they got engaged in Ibiza.
The couple said their vows in a wedding close to their self-built dream home in Kent in front of their closest friends and family.
McCall - who had surgery to remove a benign brain tumour and more recently battled breast cancer - has now praised the “very intimate and special” day.
“It was the most perfect day, with only 11 guests. It was very intimate and special,” she said at a book awards event, per The Mail.
The Masked Singer judge went on to praise her husband, saying: “He is the ultimate female ally and menopause ally. He’s helped so many women, including myself, with menopausal hair.”
She added: “I can’t walk down the street without women nodding at me and smiling.”
The broadcaster won the Nielsen Bestseller Silver award for her book Menopausing at the event.
McCall and Douglas had been close friends for years after meeting at Hertfordshire’s Elstree Studios during McCall’s time on Big Brother.
They began dating after the breakdown of McCall’s 17-year marriage to Matthew Robertson, with whom she shares three children, in 2017.
A source told The Sun last month: “Their wedding was perfect, exactly what they wanted. They chose a small venue close to their home, and just invited about ten of their friends and relatives to be there with them.
“It was very intimate and everyone who attended is very special in their lives. They’ve been through a huge amount in recent months, with Davina’s health, and it just felt right to formalise their marriage. They didn’t see the point in waiting.”
The insider added: “The next day they just carried on with life as normal, and as coincidence would have it they were guests at another friend’s wedding day.
“So they went as a married couple for the first time and happily showed off her wedding ring. It was the perfect weekend.”
McCall showed off her Big Brother-inspired wedding ring after her nuptials, flashing the dazzler with an eye motif on a night out.
Douglas remained by McCall’s side during a frightening period when doctors discovered a rare colloid cyst on her brain, a condition affecting only three in a million people.
Surgeons removed it swiftly over fears it could cause serious complications if it grew any further.
The presenter announced last month that she had breast cancer and has had a “lump” removed, before urging others to “get checked”.
