Davina McCall has shared the impact that the menopause and the end of a relationship had on her weight, saying that she is now making sure to eat the "right things".
The presenter, 54, spoke about fitness in an interview for the new issue of woman&home, in which she discussed her experience being of varying weight in recent years.
The former Big Brother host split from her husband Matthew Robertson - with whom she shares her three children - in 2017, after having been married for 17 years.
Their separation came at a time when she was experiencing debilitating symptoms of the menopause, which left her feeling exhausted and out of touch with her own body.
Davina explained to the outlet that she lost her passion for working out and "had no get up and go," which wasn't like her. She commented that it "felt very scary".
She recalled "completely [losing her] exercise mojo" during her early perimenopause days, adding that she found that "very hard" as she's someone who relies on fitness to feel good.
The presenter said that since the birth of daughter Tilly, now 19, she has been "really into fitness" but she lost the energy to do exercise whilst experiencing symptoms of the menopause.
Davina said she had "nothing in the tank" and wanted to lie around watching TV. She recalled feeling like she could see the pounds going on but "couldn't shift" the weight.
She however explained that things soon changed amid her separation, saying: "When I split up with Matthew the divorce diet thing happened and the weight just went."
The presenter - who's now in a relationship with hairstylist Michael Douglas, 48 - added that she has since gained some of the weight back and is more conscious of her diet.

She said: "I've put a bit back on but not all of it and I've been absolutely fastidious about making sure that I'm eating the right things and the right amounts to keep me on the straight and narrow."
Davina said she "hated" feeling as though she wasn't in control of her own body, though "things did get better" and have remained that way. She said weight gain seems to happen to everyone whilst going through the menopause.
She noted that feeling rough made her want to eat chocolate and that her boobs got bigger when she first went on HRT. She said it was HRT that made her want to "eat well and go to the gym again."
Discussing her relationship, Davina said it's "really important" to her that it's kept as "private as possible". She added that she is "very happy" but that they want to keep it to themselves.
The November issue of woman&home will be on sale from next Thursday (September 29).
