Davina McCall divides viewers with her outfit choice on BBC's The One Show

BBC The One Show viewers were left divided over Davina McCall's outfit choice while she was on Monday night's programme to discuss perimenopause and the menopause.

The TV presenter, 54, looked incredible as she joined host Alex Jones on the famous sofa.

Mum of three Davina, who is a judge on The Masked Singer, told viewers of the show that she was just 43 when she began suffering symptoms of perimenopause, writes Manchester Evening News.

Perimenopause means "around menopause" and refers to the time during which the body makes the transition to menopause, when periods stop due to lower hormone levels.

As the TV presenter opened up on her own experience, viewers watching at home picked up on her outfit. @suzysasha tweeted: "#TheOneShow Davina looks stunning!"

@jopel69 exclaimed: "Wow how amazing does @ThisisDavinalook on #theoneshow #davina Thanks so much for all the #Menopause awareness." But @ruth_clark asked: "#TheOneShow why is Davina wearing a nightie?"

@KeithMcCormac17 tweeted: "#theoneshow Davina in some sort of lingerie type slip." @FlopsyPickle said: "Davina looks like she’s dressed for a night out, I mean I guess if you’ve got it flaunt it." And @djrustynail asked: "Is Davina going out clubbing after #theoneshow?"

The Long Lost Family presenter told on the BBC One chat show how she encountered frightening brain fog that made her break down in tears. Thanking the former Big Brother host for her candour @SamanthaMalin told her: "I developed absolutely crippling anxiety - to the point where I could not leave the house. "

They added: "I had terrible joint pain but no hot flushes. Every woman has different symptoms from the menopause. Thanks Davina." Davina recalled how, because she had symptoms that weren't hot flushes, she didn't realise what was happening to her.

She suffered uncharacteristic anxiety that put her off driving after dark and 'brain fog' which led her to accidentally forget forget celeb interior designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen's name. "It was literally like a blank page," she said.

Davina was then taken aside by a colleague and broke down in tears. "I thought 'I am going mad', I felt so lonely. I had nowhere to turn," she told Alex and Jermaine. "I was like 'where do I turn?'"

Fitness fanatic Davina, speaking out during Menopause Awareness Month, regularly shares her workouts to alleviate symptoms of the perimenopause and menopause on Instagram.

She has a new book called Menopausing: The Positive Roadmap To Your Second Spring following an awareness-raising Channel 4 TV show Sex, Mind and the Menopause.

"A bit of understanding goes a long way," she said, explaining her hopes of educating more men to interact with their partners and work colleagues about the menopause. She told that itchy skin, dry eyes, dry mouth and low libido are also symptoms. @IckieBickie tweeted: "Davina looks incredible. She’s doing a fantastic job, spreading awareness of the menopause."
