In 2016, the author had written that he had fallen head over heels for a secret celebrity that's he'd referred to her as "Miss X".
The secret was soon exposed as television presenter Lisa Snowdon stepped forward to unveil her identity as the secret romantic interest.
She told The Sun: "Yes, It’s me. I’m Miss X. I was hoping no one would realise. David and I are great friends and he’s such an amazing bloke, but there is no romance."
"David has made it clear he has feelings for me but we’ve got to a point where we can just have a platonic relationship.
"I’m very honest with him and he has been with me, so there are no games."
The former girlfriend of George Clooney vows to keep her love life out of the public eye since their highly publicised split in 2005.
Lisa and David briefly dated sometime after the radio presenter's split from the Hollywood A-Lister, but Lisa soon admitted that nothing was going to happen romantically.
The former glamour model branded David as a "gentleman" and an "adorable guy", candidly admitting that she didn't want to hurt his feelings.
Despite their brief romance fling, the pair were spotted out publicly on several occasions.
The duo have since moved on with their own relationships as David was once part of one of the strongest couples in showbiz.
Several years after he separated from Lisa, David started supermodel Lara Stone - who he would go on to marry and shared a child with - ahead of their socking split in 2015.
The pair, who share son Alfred together, went through a messy divorce after claims from the comedian that his partner cited "unreasonable behaviour".
Lisa, on the other hand, is currently engaged to fiancé George Smart after her partner got down on one knee in an intimate proposal at their home.
The This Morning presenter has been engaged to her partner since 2016, describing her future husband-to-be as her "best friend".
In 2020, the pair has to cancel their Japan ceremony due to the coronavirus pandemic.
At the time, Lisa said she was left "heartbroken" as the ceremony would have to hold on for a later date.
She explained to new magazine: "It is heartbreaking having to cancel our wedding and we’d hoped we’d get married in Japan, but now George and I are going with the flow.
"We don’t even really discuss it and we are going to leave it until next year, there’s no point in planning anything and everything has been put on hold."
Lisa told The Mirror that she had been considering eloping for her wedding to George.
She said: “I never really imagined my wedding before so I don’t have any ideas – I don’t know when or where."
