David Turnbull provides Celtic injury boost amid Carter-Vickers Giakoumakis and Haksabanovic worry

Celtic midfielder David Turnbull is back in training after pulling out of the Scotland squad through injury last week.

The attack-minded player was part of Steve Clarke's side for their double-header with Ukraine and Hampden clash with the Republic of Ireland. But he was forced to pull out and return to base with Ange Postecoglou's side ahead of a Premiership meeting with former club Motherwell on Saturday.

New footage posted by the club has shown Turnbull taking part in sessions alongside fellow international team members Callum McGregor. Greg Taylor and Anthony Ralston. Daizen Maeda was also involved after he pulled up on Japan duty with a thigh problem following a 45-minute appearance in a friendly with USA.

There was also some participation by Aaron Mooy who returned back to Scotland early from duty with Australia on the other side of the world. There are concerns over other Celtic stars though.

Cameron Carter-Vickers missed their 2-0 loss to St Mirren through injury and pulled out the USA squad as a result, not spotted in the session.

Neither was Giorgos Giakoumakis after Greece manager Gus Poyet revealed the striker was struggling with a thigh problem.

A third injury blow was to Sead Haksabanovic, who pulled up while away on duty for Montenegro in a further issue for Postecoglou.
