David Moyes makes West Ham claim over Mark Noble amid Paolo Di Canio and Dimitri Payet debate

West Ham United manager David Moyes has said that he would bring back Mark Noble to the club over any ex-West Ham player, if given the chance.

The Hammers boss recently did a Q&A video where he took on questions from supporters about his time at West Ham, his overall career and more.

One of the questions that Moyes answered was in regards to which former West Ham player he would want in his squad if he had the chance to do so.

Moyes name dropped former French playmaker Dimitri Payet and ex-Italian striker Paolo Di Canio when mentioning players who he would consider, but instead opted for former Hammers captain Mark Noble, who retired in the summer after a 22-year association with West Ham.

In that time, Noble scored 62 goals in 550 appearances for the Hammers and helped them win promotion to the Premier League twice in 2005 and 2012, as well as helping the Hammers earn sixth and seventh place finishes in the league and reach the semi-finals of the Europa League.

For his leadership, love of the club and reliability, Moyes said he would pick Noble over anyone else.

“It’s really difficult but I’d have to say, because he’s just past, I’d have to say Mark Noble probably because he’s the one who I’ve been with,” Moyes told West Ham’s official YouTube channel .

“When I think of Payet, Di Canio, I’d have to say the one who had all great leadership, loved the club and thankfully, he’s going to stay around for a little longer, Mark Noble. He’d probably be the name that would spring to mind.”

Fortunately for Moyes, he will get to start working again with Noble officially soon when he officially takes the role of the club’s sporting director next month.
