West Ham United boss David Moyes has said that the Hammers’ Europa League draw against Spanish side Sevilla is ‘the pick’ of the round-of-16 games.
The Hammers were drawn to face the Andalusian outfit in the next round of the competition having topped their group ahead of the likes of Rapid Vienna, Genk and Dinamo Zagreb.
Meanwhile, Sevilla have dropped down from the Champions League and faced a playoff with Zagreb - eventually running out 3-2 winners against the Croatian outfit.
It is certainly a tough task for the Hammers as they come up against a side who have won the competition on a record six occasions which includes four successes alone in the last ten years.
Moyes has suggested that the tie will of course be highly-anticipated but is one that players and supporters are relishing.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of this weekend’s clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers, he said: “The big thing with Europe is the excitement.
“Everyone wants a European tour, we have played well in Europe and we will take a big support to Sevilla.
“I think it's the pick of the round. Sevilla have been unbelievable in winning the competition. They're probably the form side in Spain after Real Madrid at the moment.
“It's a really tough game, but we want to test ourselves against the best. It would be good to get used to the stadium if we could go back there for the final!”
Despite looking forward to the tie against the Spanish side, Moyes did however admit that he was potentially looking forward to heading back to his native Scotland for a tie against Rangers.
He continued: “I was looking forward to the prospect of going to Rangers, but great credit to them for getting through against Dortmund.
“We've played well in Europe and we'll take a big support to Seville and really look forward to it. There is more pressure on them than there is on us because we're new to it. We're getting used to it and hopefully we'll get more used to it in the future.”
