David Moyes cooled down talk of an agreed deal between West Ham and Lyon for Lucas Paqueta.
football.london reported that talks were progressing on Friday afternoon after claims were made that the two clubs had an agreement for the Brazilian playmaker after an initial bid was rejected on Thursday.
But speaking ahead of the Hammers' Premier League fixture against Aston Villa on Sunday, the Scot could not back up claims that a deal is close to completion.

"Probably, I learn as much from Sky as I do from anyone else," Moyes replied when asked what the latest was with Paqueta. "The truth is we're waiting on more information.
"I know we've made a second offer for him and we're hoping to try and get a deal but at the moment I've got no more updates for you."
When pressed on what the Lyon star could bring to the side, Moyes refused to comment on another team's player.
"Do you not think that would be a better question after we've got him, if we do get him?" replied Moyes. "No point in talking about a player at another club while we've not got him."
Paqueta has drawn interest from rival Premier League clubs Arsenal and Newcastle United.
