The Tennessee Titans will undoubtedly have some tough decisions to make over the coming months.
Titans fans and media have rightfully been discussing several different ways that the Titans could possibly improve their dismal offense, including yours truly.
However, make no mistake about it: there will be some tough choices to make on the defensive side of the ball as well.
Arguably the biggest decision on defense revolves around whether or not the team should keep David Long in Tennessee.
According to Pro Football Focus, Long has the highest overall grade amongst all of the Titans’ pending free agents (76.2). PFF also has the West Virginia product listed as their 12th-best pending free agent prospect regardless of team or position.
Whenever Long is on the field, there’s no denying the type of impact he has on the defense.
Unfortunately, keeping him on the field is half the struggle, as he’s battled soft tissue injuries each of the last two seasons that have caused him to miss a significant amount of time.
The Titans’ decision on what to do with their starting linebacker will be just one of the many interesting and difficult decisions they have to make this offseason.
Long finished his 2022 season with 86 tackles and seven tackles for loss in 12 games.
