David James makes 'interesting observation' that may worry Liverpool in title race

David James believes Liverpool may be susceptible to dropping points in consecutive Premier League matches after they drew at Manchester City's Etihad Stadium on Sunday evening. The Reds still sit a single point behind league leaders City - but the former goalkeeper is wary of more points being dropped.

The ex-Liverpool star highlighted how Jurgen Klopp's side need to ensure the gap to City doesn't widen beyond a point as there are just seven games to go in the race for the Premier League title.

City will believe they could have put the game to bed in the first half on Sunday, but went into the half-time break with a 2-1 lead. Sadio Mane levelled for Liverpool early in the second period and the points were shared.

“With Liverpool, the one thing that I was concerned about is that when Liverpool drop points in the Premier League this season, they regularly drop points in the following game,” said James on Sky Sports.

“Now, if that was to happen then the gap would open. Of course that doesn’t mean it’s going to happen, it’s just an interesting observation.”

Liverpool's next Premier League match will take place on Tuesday, April 19 at Anfield against bitter rivals Manchester United. The Reds take on City once again this Saturday, but this time in the semi-final of the FA Cup at Wembley.
