David Gold has sent a message to Declan Rice and David Moyes following the West Ham duo’s win at the London Football Awards.
Rice was named the Premier League Player of the Year at the event while Moyes won the Manager of the Year Award for the second season in a row, with his team riding high once again.
While the wheels might have come off their Champions League challenge in recent weeks, Moyes’ ability to have his team battle in the upper echelons of the Premier League despite rivals boasting much more in the way of resource is hugely impressive.
Thursday offers one of the biggest games in the club’s recent history with a trip to Sevilla in the Europa League round-of-16, a match that says so much about the rapid-fire progress West Ham have made since Moyes returned to the club.
Under the Scotsman’s stewardship, Rice has developed into one of Europe’s leading midfielders and a regular at international level.
Taking to Twitter to celebrate the double award, Gold wrote: “Congratulations David Moyes & Declan Rice on this achievement. Premier League Manager and Player of the Year. You make us proud! dg”
