David de Gea has revealed his ‘love’ for Manchester United teammate Casemiro after being called a “d*******” by the Brazilian.
Both players have been key under Erik ten Hag this season in what has been an impressive debut campaign at Old Trafford. The Spaniard’s form between the sticks has been eye-catching whilst former Real Madrid star Casemiro has been a crucial addition in the heart of midfield.
It appears the pair are also quite fond of each other too. De Gea took to Instagram to share a message from his Brazilian teammate left in the Man United dressing room over the weekend.
He showed one of his autograph cards seemingly vandalised by Casemiro with the message: "I love you d******d,” in Spanish. De Gea responded by captioning his story: “Love you too bro,” with a heart and laughing emoji.
Whilst the Spaniard appears to have struck up a close relationship with the former Real Madrid star, he is not the only one to have been impressed by his debut season in the Premier League. Leading goalscorer Marcus Rashford has also been full of praise for the 31-year-old since his £60m move from Real Madrid.
Speaking after the Red Devils lifted the Carabao Cup, he said: “He makes a huge difference for us. His leadership and experience in big games is essential.

“Speaking to some of the other forward lads and we have all said that when he is on the pitch, we can all feel the sense of security behind us which is so important.”
Despite an impressive debut campaign, Casemiro’s discipline has been called into question on a few occasions throughout the season. He has picked up two red cards against Crystal Palace and Southampton, meaning he has missed eight games through suspension.
He returned at the weekend though and played the full 90 minutes as the Red Devils made it three consecutive league victories with a 2-0 success over struggling Nottingham Forest. Ten Hag’s men take another break from league action over the coming week as they attempt to add a further two trophies to their haul.
United first take on Spanish side Sevilla in the second-leg of their Europa League quarter-final tie. The tie is currently level after the Red Devils let a two-goal lead slip at Old Trafford.
Following that game, in-form Brighton are then the next opponents as the two sides come together in the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley Stadium. United’s next Premier League assignment comes against Tottenham in North London in nine days’ time.
De Gea will certainly be hoping to claim another shutout in that game. The Spaniard has notched three consecutive clean sheets in the Premier League and now leads the race for the Golden Glove.
