Chelsea are close to completing their first January transfer after agreeing a £10.5million deal to sign Molde striker David Datro Fofana. The Ivorian forward has scored 15 goals and provided a further five assists in 24 appearances so far this season.
Armando Broja suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury during a friendly against Aston Villa, leaving Graham Potter's attacking options significantly weakened heading into the second half of the season. Broja is set to miss the remainder of the campaign, leaving Chelsea with just two striker options in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Kai Havertz.
Aubameyang and Havertz have both struggled for form this season, leading to Todd Boehly exploring possible striker options to add to Potter's squad in January. Cristiano Ronaldo has also been linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge after he became a free agent following his decision to mutually agree to terminate his contract with Manchester United before the World Cup.

The young striker has already been capped at international level for the Ivory Coast and his form this season for Molde has proved he has the talent and ability to develop into a top striker.
It seems Fofana is keen to join the west London outfit after a video emerged on social media of the Ivorian striker being asked who his favourite club is.
In the video, the Ivorian forward smiled and responded: "Chelsea." According to Fraternite Matin, via TeamTalk, Liverpool were admirers of Fofana as they looked to reinforce their attacking options but it seems Chelsea have beaten their rivals to his signature.
