David Bowie World Fan Convention in Liverpool: Line up, schedule and tickets

The David Bowie World Fan Convention hosted by Sound City and David Bowie Glamour takes place in Liverpool this weekend.

The event celebrates 50 years of Bowie and will bring together an “all-star line-up” of his closest friends and collaborators. From June 17 to 19, numerous city centre venues will be taking part in the David Bowie World Fan Convention to celebrate all things Ziggy Stardust.

The main Convention Centre for the weekend will be located at Mountford Hall where fans can “listen, learn, laugh and leave inspired by Bowie's esteemed collaborators”. This includes Carlos Alomar, guitarist and bandleader for three decades, and Gail Ann Dorsey, bass-player and vocalist from 1995 to 2016.

Woody Woodmansey, drummer and last surviving Spider from Mars, will also be there, as well as the last musician to play with Bowie, saxophonist Donny McCaslin. St George's Hall will be the home of Bowie Ball, a “celebration of self expression”, with all ticket holders encouraged to put on their make-up and bring their favourite era of Bowie to Liverpool.

The David Bowie Fan Convention will be packed with live performances of Bowie’s hits, alongside special guest appearances from artists influenced by the man himself. There will also be exhibitions and talks from an array of photographers and designers who helped create Bowie’s iconic imagery, including The Duffy Archive, Denis O’Regan, Philippe Auliac and Jonathan Barnbrook.

Tickets for the David Bowie Fan Convention are now sold out. See below for the full line up and schedule.
