David Beckham is said to have confronted his son Brooklyn over the rumoured feud between his family and new wife Nicola.
The footie legend, 47, 'read the riot act' to his son after a recent interview given by Nicola, telling him: "we are done with the drama", insiders say.
To read the riot act means to give someone a severe warning or reprimand them.
The Beckhams have never confirmed there is a feud between themselves and Brooklyn, 23, and Nicola, 27, but reports have persistently circulated since the young couples glitzy summer wedding.
Sources say David gave aspiring chef Brooklyn a dressing down after Nicola's recent interview with Grazia magazine, in which she spoke about why she didn't wear a wedding dress designed by Victoria, 48.
An insider told The Mail + "‘He had it out with him and told him “We don’t do this in our family – and you know that we don’t do this in our family.”’
The Ex England captain is believed to have told Brooklyn: ‘What happens next is up to you, but we are done with the drama."
The source went on: "David was really appalled by the Grazia interview because it seemed to be washing the family dirty linen in public and he said that [Brooklyn’s brothers] Romeo and Cruz are also hurt by it."
David's reported intervention was most likely a shock as Becks has never done anything than tell his oldest son how much he loves him.
While speaking to Grazia USA earlier this month, Nicola appeared to hint that there may have been some tension surrounding the wedding dress debacle.
“Well, I was planning on wearing Victoria’s wedding dress," she explained. "I was truly so excited to be able to wear a design that my future mother-in-law created. We connected to start designing the dress, and then a few days went by and I didn’t hear anything.
"Victoria called my mom and said her atelier couldn’t make it.
"So, I spoke to my mom and Leslie [Nicola’s close friend and stylist, stylist Leslie Fremar], and I was like, ‘Well, unfortunately, this can’t happen, so what’s the next step?’"
Further addressing the feud, Nicola said: "When I read things that say [things like] I was never planning on wearing a [ Victoria Beckham ] dress or things like that, it does hurt my feelings. I try not to let it, but it’s just not the truth.
"It’s just a bit of a bummer when you’re like, ‘Oh, people think that,’ but it’s just not true."
She added that Victoria and David are "great in-laws".
This week Nicola and Brooklyn touched down in Paris Fashion Week.
The Mail + reports that the pair will watch Victoria's fashion show, to show family unity.
A source told Closer magazine that Victoria has been "hurt and upset" by the feud, and has been leaning on son Romeo for support.
Mirror Online has contacted David and Brooklyn's representatives for comment.
