Manchester United are officially up for sale. The Glazer family announced in a statement on the club's website that they were seeking 'alternative strategies' for investment which included selling the club to new owners.

The question is who will buy United? There has already been a lot of interest, with the Manchester Evening News understanding that tech giants Apple and also Zara founder Amancio Ortega have both enquired about becoming the club's new owners.

But another name who is ready to throw his hat into the ring, even if it is in a minor capacity, is David Beckham. The former United midfielder currently is co-owner of Inter Miami in the MLS but according to reports he would be open to the idea of joining a consortium.
